GeekyKat Goes to Singapore

in Travel Geek on 07/09/16

So I went to Singapore a couple of weeks ago for some much needed R&R (hey, I’m a hardworker!). And being the semi-pro traveler that I am, I prepared well enough for this trip through my new favorite travel app, Klook!

As much as I can, I prefer buying tourist attraction tickets in advance mainly because I want to feel confident that the money I have in my pocket can be solely spent on food and pasalubong. For this trip, I decided to book our tickets via Klook and boy it was the best decision EVER.

Klook Website

Klook is a travel site/app that offers amazing discounts to various travel destinations! It’s actually been around for quite sometime now (it was the best travel app of 2015) but I only got to hear about it recently and decided to give it a try. The app allows you to purchase the vouchers via credit card or Paypal and then use the mobile voucher (no need to print!) when you arrive at the place itself! It saved us so much time falling in line for tickets, just show/scan it at the main entrance and you’re in! I’ve been in about 4 trips in one year so I’m actually kicking myself in my head for not knowing about this sooner!

So anyway, here are the places we went to via a discounted voucher from Klook:

GARDENS BY THE BAY (704php)

This tourist destination was a pleasant surprise for me. I thought it was just another garden park but it turns out to be one of the highlights of my trip!

The Flower Dome is this huge air-conditioned floral display that I’m sure my mother would kill to take some home. It’s like Dangwa only 20x bigger and better and the flowers are not for sale, hahaha!

After the Flower Dome we went to the Cloud Forest which very much feels like Encantadia!

It was cold and foggy and feels like an actual forest. I actually don’t want to go out of this place considering the scorching heat that was waiting for us outside hahaha!

The next day is our Sentosa Day. We got a SKYPASS + LUNCH BUFFET (1197php) to go to Mount Faber Peak for our buffet lunch at Spuds & Aprons. The Skypass comes with a roundtrip cable ride for all cable cars in both Sentosa and Mount Faber Lines making it super worth it!

Not a love lock, they're love bells! Overlooking cable car to Sentosa.

After our hefty lunch we headed to Sentosa for our day of fun! First stop: SKYLINE LUGE (458php)!

Definitely a must-ride in Sentosa, and believe me when I say that one ride is indeed never enough! It’s like a part-go kart, part-toboggan ride that is so fun and unique that we kinda regretted buying a single voucher!

And then finally the highlight of our Sentosa Day — the UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE (2078php). To be honest I’m not really psyched to go to USS bec I’m not much into rides and there isn’t a Harry Potter section so for me, USJ is still the bestest, hahaha! But we are there already so what the heck, try narin, hahaha!

Things to do in USS that I strongly recommend: Waterworld & the Transformers 3D Ride (if you’ve been to USJ, it is very similar to Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey — only in a different theme!).

So there you go! How about you? Planning a trip soon? Try booking your tourist attractions via Klook and save a lot of money! 🙂
